I didn't receive a confirmation email

First, it's worth checking your junk, spam, or promotions folders confirmation emails sometimes end up there. If you paid via PayPal, Google Pay, or Apple Pay, it may have been sent to the email address linked to that account rather than the one you usually use.

If you've checked everywhere and still can't find it, drop us a message and we'll track down your order details for you.

Can I edit my order?

We start preparing orders quickly to make sure they reach you on time. If you need to change the items in your order. For example, swap a product, adjust quantities, or add something new, please contact us as soon as possible.

  • If your order hasn't shipped → we can usually make updates for you.
  • If your order has already shipped → we're unable to change it, but you're welcome to return or exchange items once they arrive.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, but only if your order hasn't been processed or shipped yet. We start preparing orders quickly, so please get in touch as soon as possible.

  • If your order hasn't shipped → we can usually cancel it for you.
  • If your order has already shipped → we're unable to stop it, but you're welcome to return it once it arrives.

Can I change my shipping address?

You can update your delivery address as long as your order hasn't been dispatched yet. If you spot a mistake, please let us know straight away.

  • If your order hasn't shipped → we can update the address in our system.
  • If your order has already shipped → unfortunately we're unable to make changes once the parcel has left us.

If your order can't be delivered, it will usually be returned to us by the carrier. As soon as it arrives back, we'll be in touch to arrange redelivery or a refund.

My order arrived damaged

We're really sorry your order didn't arrive in perfect condition, that's not good enough and we want to make it right.

Please get in touch as soon as possible and include:

  1. A photo of the damaged item and its packaging
  2. Your order number

I received the wrong item

Before getting in touch, it's worth double-checking your package, as items are sometimes sent separately. If it's definitely missing, please reach out with:

Shipping & Return

Where do you ship to, and what does it cost?

Alafriday orders are shipped directly from the US. We deliver across the US and to many international destinations including the UK, Europe, and beyond.

Due to carrier restrictions, we're unable to ship to every country globally. Shipping rates vary depending on your location, delivery speed, and the service selected at checkout.

Will I be charged duties or taxes?

It depends on where you live, but we do our best to minimise any surprises.

Since Alafriday ships from the US, international orders may be subject to local duties, taxes, or handling fees depending on your country's import rules. Here's how it works by region:

🇺🇸 USA — We ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), meaning we pre-pay the tariff on your behalf. You won't face unexpected customs charges when your order arrives.

🇪🇺 EU — We collect and remit VAT under the IOSS scheme, so your order should clear smoothly without additional VAT on delivery. A small number of EU countries may still apply local handling fees, so it's worth checking locally before ordering.

🌍 Rest of the world — Local authorities may charge import duties, taxes, or handling fees. These are the customer's responsibility, and we recommend checking your country's import policies before purchasing.

All international orders are shipped via Royal Mail, which hands over to your local postal service upon arrival.

How do I return my order?

Not quite what you expected? No problem. You have 14 days from delivery to return your order to us, and we've kept the process as simple as possible.

To start a return:

  1. Reply to your order confirmation email (or email us at support@alafriday.com) with your order number and the item you'd like to return.
  2. We'll send you the return instructions, including the return address.
  3. Package your item securely using the original packaging is usually best and send it back to us.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Please make sure your order number is clearly marked on the package.
  • Items must be returned unused and in their original condition.
  • Return postage is at your own cost, unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

Once we've received and checked your return, we'll process your refund as soon as possible, usually within 5–10 working days.

When will I receive my refund?

Refunds usually appear in your account within 5–10 working days, depending on your payment method.

Once we've processed your return (or confirmed a refund for another reason), the money will go back to your original payment method:

  • Credit/debit card → 5–10 working days (this varies by bank)
  • PayPal → usually within a day or two
  • Gift card → credited back to your account straight away

You'll receive an email as soon as your refund has been processed, so you'll know it's on its way. Your bank may take a little longer to show it, but rest assured it's been sent.

How can I track my order?

Tracking details are sent in your dispatch confirmation email, keep an eye out for it after your order ships.

  • US orders → All US orders are sent with USPS as standard. Your dispatch email will include a tracking link showing your parcel's journey.
  • International orders → By default, international orders are sent via DHL. If you selected a tracked option at checkout, you'll receive a tracking link in your dispatch email. Once the parcel leaves the US, it's handed over to your local postal service for final delivery.

Can't find your tracking email? Check your spam or junk folder first, or log into your Alafriday account to view your order history.

Why isn't my tracking number working?

If your tracking link isn't showing updates yet, don't worry. It's usually just a short delay. Tracking typically becomes active within 24 hours of your shipping confirmation, and occasionally the courier's system takes a little longer to catch up.

Tracking updates are managed directly by the shipping provider, so it's unfortunately outside of our control. That said, if your tracking still isn't showing anything after 24 hours of receiving your shipping confirmation, please let us know

How do I hang my calendar or wall planner?

Displaying your Alafriday calendar or wall planner is easy, and there are plenty of options depending on your space.

Calendars: Most of our calendars come with either a wire hanger or a 4mm hole at the top. You can hang them using a small nail or an adhesive hook.

Wall planners: You have a bit more creative freedom here. Try:

  • Tape or Blu Tack
  • Pins on a noticeboard or door
  • Binder clips or bulldog clips
  • A clip frame for a more polished look

What pens should I use?

All of our products are printed on sturdy, quality paper that won't bleed. So honestly, it comes down to personal preference. Whether you prefer fine liners, ballpoint pens, or even marker pens, they all work beautifully.

The item I want is out of stock, what should I do?

Some of our pieces are restocked regularly, while others are limited-run or seasonal. If something you love is sold out, here's how to stay in the loop:

  • Notify Me: If a product is sold out, you'll see a "Notify Me" button on the listing. Enter your email and we'll let you know as soon as it's back.
  • Newsletter: Sign up for early access and restock alerts before anyone else.
  • Instagram: Follow us for behind-the-scenes updates and product news.

Discount & Payment

My discount code isn't working, what should I do?

No worries, let's get it sorted! Before getting in touch, it's worth double-checking a few things:

  • The code is spelled correctly, with no extra spaces or typos
  • It hasn't expired
  • It's valid for the items in your cart

If everything looks right and it's still not working, drop us a message and we'll look into it for you.

I forgot to apply my discount code, can it still be used?

No worries at all, we can often help if you missed adding a code at checkout. Get in touch as soon as possible, and depending on where your order is at, we may still be able to apply it for you.
